Publisher is being retired. Your files don't have to be stuck.
Turn a batch of .pub files into PDFs, with a receipt for each one.
Microsoft's own lifecycle documentation states that Publisher 2021 and Publisher LTSC 2021 reach end of support on October 13, 2026. This converts a ZIP of .pub files to PDF and reports, per file, exactly what was recovered — never a bare "converted" checkmark, and never a claim of an exact or lossless result.

Publisher .pub file rescue
Upload a ZIP of .pub files, bounded to 25 MiB and 200 files. Each file is checked by its actual file signature, not its extension, before anything is attempted. Get back a ZIP with a PDF per file, the original bytes, and a receipt (HTML and JSON) naming the page count, extracted text length and image count we measured for that specific file.
Real, publicly filed Publisher bug-report attachments. Real conversion results.
Before writing any product code, we sourced 11 real .pub files attached to public LibreOffice/libmspub defect reports, plus a synthetic corrupt file, and ran them through a free, open-source conversion stack. The results decided the shape of this product.

What we found, and why every result gets a receipt
Finding 1. In that setup, LibreOffice's command-line converter never reaches its own Publisher importer — the filter component that reads .pub files is not installed — so it silently misdetects a .pub file as a plain-text Writer document and "successfully" produces a PDF full of raw binary garbage instead of your content. Our converter checks for this exact failure mode on every conversion and refuses the result rather than deliver it.
Finding 2. Even libmspub's own direct command-line tool failed completely — zero bytes of output — on a real Publisher-2013-authored file whose original PDF (confirmed by its own "Microsoft® Publisher 2013" export metadata) has 2 pages, 16 images and 1,179 characters of text. Free, open-source .pub conversion is not a solved problem.
Finding 3. Six of our eleven real-world fixtures are the subject of independently filed, still-open LibreOffice or libmspub bug reports describing distinct content-loss defects — this is a documented, ongoing gap, not a one-off.

Publisher end of support
What Microsoft itself documents.
What Microsoft's lifecycle page states
Microsoft's own product lifecycle page lists Publisher 2021 end of support as October 13, 2026, alongside the rest of Office 2021, under Microsoft's Modern Policy. This is a support-end date, not a file-deletion deadline — your existing .pub files are not altered or removed by this change.
What this tool assumes
Every input is checked against the actual OLE compound-file signature Publisher writes, not the .zip member's name. A file that is not a genuine .pub is refused before any conversion is attempted, and stated as refused in your receipt — never silently dropped from the batch.
What stays out of scope
No image extraction into separate files in this version — the receipt reports how many images the source file contained, as a measure, not a delivered asset. No claim that a converted PDF is an exact or complete substitute for the original .pub. No live connection to Microsoft or your Publisher installation.
Know before you start
A defined task. A receipt you can check.
What the first version accepts
A ZIP of .pub files, up to 25 MiB compressed and 200 archive members. Path traversal, symlinks and non-.pub content are refused, not silently skipped.
What this does not claim
A receipt states the page count, extracted text length and image count we measured for that file — it does not claim your Publisher document was reproduced exactly, identically, losslessly or perfectly. If a file cannot be converted at all, the receipt says so, and no charge applies to a batch where nothing could be produced.
How your files are processed
This file is sent to our server so we can run the paid report on it. It is deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you delete it. The free tools on this site never send your file anywhere. Your original files are also included in your download. That download is kept for 7 days after delivery, or until you delete it.
After conversion
The PDFs in your result open in any standard PDF reader — no further software from us is required.
