One company, four spellings

Your inquiry export lists the same company four ways, and you have to send one email per company, not four.

The result, on the sample

This is the finished result, made on this page from the sample file below. It is not a picture of one.

16 rows became 6 companies.

  • 6 companies, from 16 rows.
  • 2 pairs left for you to decide.
  • 1 row could not be read.

Running your own file needs scripting turned on. The result above, and every word on this page, do not.

What it does

  • Groups the rows that name one company under one spelling, and shows you every spelling it folded in.

It will not It groups two rows only when the names match after case, punctuation and a legal suffix are set aside. Anything looser stays apart.

  • Puts pairs that nearly match on a second list, with both spellings side by side, for you to decide.

It will not It will not merge a near match on your behalf, and it never picks a winner between two spellings it is unsure about.

  • Lists every row it could not read, with the line number from your file.

It will not It never drops a row quietly. A row it cannot read comes back to you, whole.

What it will and will not do

  • CSV, with a header row
  • Up to 5,000 rows and 2 MB, one file at a time.
  • It reads a company column and an email column by name from the header row. A file with no header row is refused, with the reason.
  • It groups by the name you typed. It has no directory of real companies to check the name against.

Your version

Three questions about the work, not about you. All optional, and there is no account.

$99.00 version 2026-09-14

One export, up to 50,000 rows, run on our server and sent back as companies.csv: one row per company, the pairs we did not merge, and every row we could not read, plus a configuration you keep and can run on the next export. Priced as a guess; nobody has bought it.

A price we have guessed at. Nobody has bought this, and the version is on the record.

The paid version runs on our server, not in this page: you send the export, confirm which column is the company and which is the email, see what it finds before you pay, and download the file. It keeps the same rules as this page, so a pair this page leaves for you to decide is a pair that one leaves too.
